November 26th students from St Andrews Middle School, Hamilton snorkelled under the guidance of Tony & Jenny Enderby, Discover Goat Island. Bottlenose dolphins swam all around the students and stayed at the reserve for several hours. An awesome experience for everyone!
Waikowhai students visited the Goat Island Marine Reserve over three days and experienced the marine reserve by snorkelling under the guidance of Tony and Jenny Enderby of Discover Goat Island. They were lucky with great weather conditions and saw huge numbers of fish, learning about the difference a marine reserve makes.
Girls from Corran School visited Goat Island Marine Reserve where we showed them some of the plants and animals that lived on the rocky shore. Next we all went snorkelling and had awesome visibility, saw heaps of fish and learnt about how marine reserves do make a difference.
